Anthem still has Christmas decorations up
Sometimes I leave my Christmas decorations up til like, March, but it’s mainly due to my crushing depression. I’m assuming it’s a similar situation for Anthem, who’s most recent update came out near the end of January. It fixed some bugs and shortened wait times for the game’s recently added time trial races. One thing it didn’t do was bring an end to Anthem’s Icetide celebrations.
“Decided to have a dip back into Anthem,” GamesRadar Editor-in-Chief Sam Loveridge posted on Twitter earlier today. “The fact that all the Christmas decs are still up made it feel even sadder.”
Anthem still represents the horrible era of greedy game publishers that we are still living through today. It’s a game that had alot of potential but was ruined by a rushed and messy development cycle, with the title really only coming together in the last year of development. With key figures departing from Bioware since its release (and subsequent failure) it does seem that Anthem has gotten the axe from publisher EA.
Although EA still says they are devoted to Anthem, many actions surrounding the title since release tells a different story. Personally, I hope this isn’t and indication of what’s to come with the next Dragon Age title, which will also apparently be an online service. It’s depressing to see what has become of the once glorious Bioware.
